Background:

Rajendra’s artistic journey began when he was just 4 years old, playing characters in the traditional dance-dramas for South India's renowned drama company, 'Prabhath Kalavidaru.'

After formal training in Bharatanatyam for 5 yrs Raju gravitated towards Kathak. He honed his skills under the guidance of eminent Guru/Choreographer Dr. Maya Rao at the College of Kathak & Choreography. Rajendra has also experienced the vocabulary of the Martial Arts of Manipur & other Folk Dance traditions of India under master practitioners.

With a number of solo concerts on stage & television, Raju's preferences turned to duet & group productions. Currently, he is actively involved as a Dancer, Choreographer & Technical & Artistic Director at ADC.

Background:

Nirupama started to dance from the age of 3 & took to formal training from the age of 5.Her major solo debut in 1988 was considered by Bangalore's dance fraternity as one of the best solo performances during that year. As a teenager, she joined the dance-drama company of 'Prabhath Kalavidaru.'

She is a graduate in Kathak & Choreography (1992) from the Natya Insititute of Kathak & Choreography -Bangalore. Her years of learning at Natya included extensive study of Natyasastra, History of Choreography, Art History, Stage Craft & Lighting, Sanskrit & Classical Music.

She has presented solos in Bharatnatyam & duets in Kathak with her dance and life partner Rajendra at several prestigious festivals in India & aborad. Nirupama is regularly featured on the National and Private Television Channels of India as a performing artist. Currently, she is an active Dancer, Content Creator, Choreographer, Teacher and Artistic Director at ADC.
